Ivy League cancels 2020 Conference Tournament: Will other conferences follow?

COVID-19, or better known as the Wuhan Coronavirus, has been diagnosed for 118,907 around the world including 975 people in the United States. The disease was first a thing when sickness was being spread from a small meat market in Wuhan, China - the center of the disease. But your chances of living from it are very high, as 65,119 have recovered out of the 118,907 diagnosed. Influenza is worse in fatality numbers, and the Ebola outbreak was worse. COVID-19 is now affecting sports worldwide.

The NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS locker rooms are now banned from any media personnel entering. The NBA offices informed its teams and players to expect maybe attendance numbers drop due to the virus. LeBron James recently gave his opinion on fans not showing up by saying “I’d be disappointed if fans didn’t show up, those are the people I play for.” March Madness First Four (aka play-in games) starts next Tuesday evening in Dayton, Ohio, where someone recently tested positive for COVID-19. Growing concerns over the virus is on everyone’s mind.

The Ivy League is canceling their 2020 Men’s Basketball Conference Tournament. Yale (ranked #14) will be the team representing the conference in the NCAA Tournament, due to them being the regular-season champions. This virus will have a huge impact on The Big Dance.
